Welcome to our premier format, the Velocity Division! This XBall format is run as a split deck match style of RaceTo-5 play. Two teams face off with a full 15 minutes of potential play time and at least two minutes to separate each point. This is a fast paced format with a full match usually lasting 35 minutes. Roster sizes average 8-12 players. Be prepared to play back to back points and have paint podded up; ready to go!

We host all players in this division, but cater to the highest performing athletes in the region. This is a revamp of Division 2 paintball where fully ranked professional players showcase their skills at the divisional level.

The Velocity Division allows all Division 1 players and below to join in the fun, but still only receive Division 2 points. Semi-Professional players will be allowed in most situations. If they are playing D1 currently, it is fine, but if they are on a current professional roster, they are counted as a professional player. This format also allows up to three professional players per roster, but only allowing one to play each match at a time. Pick and choose your teammates to create the best possible roster possible!

Mostly, what you need to know is:

– This is a RaceTo-5 format (best of nine) with modified round robin scheduling. (Each team will typically play four matches in prelims.)

– If a team has more than one pro player on their roster, they must designate which one is playing each match to our rules officials. The pro player who is sitting that match will be “red shirted” and treated as a staff position. They must take off any sort of playing jersey during the match and if this “red shirted” pro plays during their match, the team will forfeit that match.

– All players and staff will need a valid form of state issued I.D. to check in. We are a PBLi approved league and do require PBLi ID cards for all players and staff that intend to enter the pits or playing field. ID cards will be printed at the field the day of the event. ***More information here***

– Players are allowed to shoot a maximum rate of fire of 10.5 bps and must use the NXL’s Millennium firing mode.

– This is a “No Coaching” format. We always welcome players and spectators alike to watch and cheer from the sidelines, but no person should assist a player on the field while a point is in play.

– The MVPS uses a flagless scoring system. To score a point, a player must press the score button on the opposing team’s start box. Pressing this button will stop the game time and earn your team a point given that the player pressing the button is ruled clear of hits by the referee.

– If there are any other questions that need to be answered ahead of time, please Contact Us or view our MVPS rule book here.
